Setting up Motion Recording

SETTING UP MOTION RECORDING

Motion recording allows the system to mark motion detection events. This allows you the option

to search only footage that has movement using Event Search.

Enabling Motion Recording

You must enable motion detection on your cameras to use motion recording.

To enable motion detection on your cameras:

1. From the Main Menu, click Ev

ent Setup ( )>Motion Setup.

2. Click the channel number that you wish to enable motion detection on.

3. Select the Ena

ble checkbox to enable motion detection.

4. OPTIONAL: Sel

ect the Motion Popup checkbox if you want the selected channel to display in

full-screen mode when it detects motion.

5. OPTIONAL: Cl

ick Apply to All to apply motion detection settings to all cameras.

6. Right-click and click Ye

s to save your settings. The system will display the ( ) symbol when

a channel detects motion. For more information on configuring motion detection see “Motion

Setup” on page 29.

Motion Recording Options

You can set up your system to record in the following configurations:

• Contin

uous Recording + Motion: Record continuously and save motion events 24/7.

• Motion Only: Record motion events 24/7; do not record footage without motion.

• Scheduled Recording: Set up custom schedules for continuous, motion, and alarm sensor

recording.
